Callisthenis completed his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, at Monash University. Taking a particular interest in immunology, he then completed an Honours project in the Biochemistry Department at Monash University. Following a successful year, he decided to then pursue research for a year as a Research Assistant in this department. Following this, Callisthenis then applied for the Doctor of Dental Surgery at Melbourne University. Now in his third year, he has pursued not only academic and clinical paths of dentistry but also research. Callisthenis has many interests outside of university which include helping the community, keeping fit and travelling. He recently travelled to Kathmandu in Nepal with fellow classmates to participate in a dental volunteering program. As the academic officer of MDSS he aims to bring together all students and staff to tackle any issues and challenges 2020 has ahead.
