Denise was born in Ankara, Turkey and her family migrated to Canada when she was 4 months old. She grew up in Ontario, Canada. She graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Biological Sciences [Honours] in 2018. Denise discovered her love of getting involved throughout high school and undergrad. She has volunteered for many different organizations and has acquired a passion for event planning. Denise was elected as Co-President of Caring for Cambodia and organized various fundraising events such as sporting tournaments, galas, and bake sales and was able to raise over $17,000 in just two years to help support a hospital and school in Cambodia. In 2017, Denise helped establish the first TEDxUniversityofWindsor chapter, hosting a conference with over a 100 attendees and 8 speakers. Denise has always wanted to pursue a career in dentistry, and her experiences sparked her love for helping people. After completing her degree, Denise worked in a dental clinic as a Clinical Coordinator and had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala providing free dental care through the Spear Open Wide Foundation. In her spare time, Denise loves spending time with family and friends, travelling, cooking, baking and getting active. Denise is excited to be part of MDSS and working with the committee members to organize fun events, hoping to make this year better than the last!
